We recognise that it might feel ‘strange’ to tell people personal stuff about yourself when you’re on a screen, however research tells us that it is just as effective as seeing someone in person.

It may surprise you to know that most people find that speaking with someone online is actually easier than face to face…

This appears to be because of a combination of things including being comfortable in your own environment and because ultimately if you don’t like the person, or you feel judged by them, you don’t have to see them again.

However, we know that our therapists make our clients feel very comfortable, understood and supported – so you can find the connection that you need to help you through the challenges that life, and mother nature, throws your way.

As human beings, our primary emotional need is for connection. Yet, often our experiences can be quite isolating. We may live in a very populated area and our communities are vast, yet we can feel embarrassed about people knowing about our difficulties.

Connecting with one of our therapists can really make a difference. Finding understanding and support from someone outside of our community can allow us to gain insights and see our experiences from a different perspective, without feeling judged.

At Therapy Online we provide a variety of psychological solutions for entrenched issues. Even when you don’t believe there is anyone that can understand or help you feel differently about your situation, our therapists can assist you to come to a different perspective. We do our utmost to ensure that you can achieve not only the remission of mental health concerns, but truly reach a greater sense of wellbeing.

Our Psychology Services are Different

Therapy Online seeks to provide integrated psychology and counselling services to individuals around the globe, by considering the needs of the whole person, in a complementary and integrated way.

We support the individual to not merely achieve the resolution of mental anguish, but excel and achieve a state of wholeness and psychological wellbeing.

If appropriate, we are also able to facilitate easier access to a variety of other services, through our networks, who may be able to provide you with access to other support.

Our diversity of experience allows us to work with you in a different way, probably very different to other services you may have experienced and usually not in a way that you might expect.

So, even if you have never spoken to anyone about the challenges you have experienced in your life, you might be pleasantly surprised to find how easy it is to open up to someone who understands how difficult life can be and is truly committed to helping you to reduce the impact of those experiences.

Payment Options

Medicare Rebate

Due to COVID-19, there are no location restrictions on online sessions. 

Our psychologists are registered to provide services under the Commonwealth Government's 'Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care' Program.

This means that individual and group sessions are eligible for a Medicare rebate.  If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Psychiatrist or Pediatrician, you can currently claim back $87.45 from Medicare for a maximum of ten sessions per calendar year.

Your psychologist will provide a progress report to your referring doctor after the agreed sessions are completed.

Private Health Insurance

You may elect to use your private health insurance.  The rebate will depend on your health fund and your level of cover.  To find out more information about what mental health services your health insurance policy covers, please contact your health insurer directly.

Worker's Compensation

You may be eligible for psychological therapy if you have a Worker's Compensation or Compulsory Third Party claim.

You will need to discuss suitability for psychological therapy with your GP and/or insurance claims manager.  Therapy Online must have approval from your insurer in writing before we are able to provide services for an insurance claim.

We will need this information in advance to enable us to bill your insurance company directly.


NDIS supports people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their capacity to take part in everyday activities.  If your NDIS funding is self-managed, or managed by a third party, we are able to provide services to you.

Why Us?

It is not uncommon to feel lost and isolated through difficult times. You are not alone in your battle as everyone will at some stage face particularly demanding challenges.

It is normal to experience difficult periods in life. However, if not managed well, these concerns may begin to affect other areas in your life such as family, friends, health, finances and relationships.

When the things that we value most are threatened we can start feeling worthless, hopeless, irritable, worried, frustrated, angry, out of control or isolated.

While family and friends may do their best to provide comfort, the therapists at Therapy Online will provide you with the opportunity to sit down (one-on-one) with an experienced psychologist or counsellor and begin to professionally manage and work through your concerns.

Therapy Online provides a space for you to voice your concerns and begin taking steps to manage or resolve your difficulties.

At Therapy Online our psychologists and other therapists are committed to assisting you to resolve the issues that are holding you back from fully engaging in life.
